The United States Bowling Congress Collegiate program has announced the locations of the 4 Sectional Qualifiers leading up to the 2006 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships, which will take place Apr. 26-29 in Rockford, Illinois.

The 4 Sectional Qualifiers will be held March 25-26 at St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights, Illinois. (suburban St. Louis); Holiday Bowl-Brainerd in Chattanooga, Tennessee, AMF Parkway in Allentown, Pasadena, and Don Carter City View Lanes in Fort Worth, Texas. Each sectional will host sixteen men's and sixteen women's squads for a combined 128 collegiate teams vying for the thirty-two spots (16 men's, 16 women's) at the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships (formerly Intercollegiate Bowling Championships).

Sectional Qualifiers are being held in Fairview Heights, Allentown and Chattanooga for the 2nd consecutive year.

Sectional assignments are based on the Team Ranking System points earned in USBC Collegiate-certified competition throughout the season. Sectional Qualifier assignments will be made to balance the field strength with no more than 4 of the top sixteen ranked teams based on the final TRS standings in each. Sectional Qualifier fields are determined by taking geographic distance, economics and field size into consideration.

The sectionals will consist of Thirty-two Baker System games each day for a total of sixty-four Baker games. The top 4 teams based on total pinfall in each division following the completion of competition at each sectional will advance to the 2006 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships.

In addition, these 4 locations also will host qualifying for the 2006 USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championships (formerly Collegiate Singles Championships) on Friday, March 24. All participants will bowl 6 games with total pinfall determining final standings. The top 4 finishers in each division (male and female) at each Sectional Qualifier advance to the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championships, which will be held May 21-23, 2006 in Milwaukee.

Each sectional location will attract 400-500 visitors in addition to the teams competing, reserving more than two-hundred hotel room nights in each host city for the weekend.

The USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships is the pinnacle event of the college bowling season, bringing together the top sixteen men's and top sixteen women's teams in the country to compete for national titles. The event culminates with a nationally televised final for the tournament's top men's and women's teams.
