Athletic scholarship eligibility regulations

This is a basic summary of the requirements as set down by the NJCAA.

You must be a high school graduate or have received a high school equivalency diploma or be certified as having passed the General Education Development Test.

If you did not graduate from high school then you can establish eligibility by completing one term of college and passing 12 credits with a GPA of 1.75. You can only qualify this way AFTER your high school class has graduated.

Non high school graduates who have earned sufficient credit for high school graduation can be eligible for athletic participation after 1 term of college work passing 12 credits with a GPA of 1.75. This term can be completed BEFORE your high school class graduates.

Students who are completing high school and are also enrolled in 12 or more credits at a college are eligible for athletic competition after completing the  NJCAA HIGH SCHOOL WAIVER FORM.

Remember this is a summary only, for more detailed provisions please visit our RESOURCES  page and follow the links to the NJCAA website.
