Carl Albert state COLLEGE

 

The Institution is the 6th fastest-growing 2 year college in the country, according to Community College Week magazine. the School is dedicated to developing students into leaders who are life-long learners, prepared for important roles in the workforce, and proficient with cutting-edge technology.

 

The school was founded in 1933 and named for Carl Albert, former Speaker of the United States. House of Representatives, who rose from humble beginnings in Oklahoma to a position of great global leadership.

Carl Albert State College  has formed strong partnerships across the nation to bring bachelors and masters level programs to students in the area.  Mid America Christian University (MACU) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Northeastern State University (NSU) in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio offer a number of bachelors degrees through ITV on the Poteau campus and/or the internet. Franklin University offers masters level programs via the internet. Southeastern Oklahoma State University (SOSU) in Durant, Oklahoma offers masters level programs via ITV on the Poteau campus.

The  College fields 4 sports – women’s basketball, men’s basketball, women’s fast pitch softball, and baseball.  Each sport continues to be highly competitive in one of the top athletic conferences in the nation – the Bi-State Athletic Conference.  The conference has cemented a reputation for advancing junior college student-athletes to some of the best National Collegiate Athletic Conference Division I schools in the country.
