Cochise College was founded in 1964 as one of the 1st community colleges in Arizona. The College provides high-quality professional development, associate's-level education and workforce training to nearly Twelve Thousand students each year.

 

Cochise is a 2 year school that serves the education needs of Cochise County, the State of Arizona and the world. Students who study at Cochise can transfer to a university, improve their job outlook, and obtain a unique educational experience. The College is situated in a geographic area rich in human history, cultural diversity and natural beauty.

The institution offers a wide range of academic programs including aviation, welding, nursing, computers, English and Spanish. At Cochise College, students can earn associate's degrees and gain experiences that will prepare them to complete bachelor's degrees at 4 year universities

Cochise College Athletics have built a solid reputation for quality competition and exceptional student athletes. The school recruits athletes from across the Southwest to compete in men's and women's basketball, women's soccer, baseball, and men's and women's rodeo.

The College is a member institution of the National Junior College Athletic Association and the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. Athletics are housed at the Douglas Campus, a full-service campus that includes residence halls; an outdoor swimming pool; a gymnasium with men’s and women’s locker rooms and full weight training and physical education labs; well-manicured soccer and baseball playing fields; and full-service rodeo grounds with arenas, practice stock, a bucking machine and complete facilities for storing horses, feed and tack.

Sprains, strains and contusions or bruising are some of the more common injuries associated with practicing martial arts. Strains can occur in both muscles and tendons and are caused by a sudden and extreme force that is greater than that area’s ability to handle.
