The Community College of Southern Nevada was
founded in 1971. the college is Nevada's largest institution of higher
education and the fourth largest junior college of its kind in the country.
Southern Nevada operates in over fifty
locations that included three main campuses and twelve learning centers in
four counties covering 42,000 square miles. The College has an enrollment of
over thirty five thousand students each semester covering two hundred career
options that features eighty associate degree and certificate programs. the
institution serve the diverse needs of the residents of Southern Nevada by
responding to the educational needs of the businesses and communities within
the School's service area.
The Community College of Southern Nevada provides access
for all to higher education, regardless of race,
age, ethnicity or economic barriers.
Southern Nevada focuses on the needs of the citizens
of Southern Nevada by providing educational and support services to meet
those needs in the areas of transfer preparation,
vocational education, general education,
basic skills development, adult education and community service.
the college is a member institution of the National Junior
College Athletic association and is part of the Scenic West Athletic
conference. The school fields teams in Baseball and softball.
