Since 1966, Tallahassee Junior College has offered post-secondary instruction of the highest quality for citizens of Leon, Wakulla and Gadsden counties, the primary service area, along with students from throughout the state, nation and world.

Over 80 percent of the schools enrollment of 14,500 is in the Associate in Arts transfer program. TCC was recently listed 22nd among the country's top producers of A.A. graduates. The largest feeder institution to Florida State University, TCC also has an excellent relationship with Florida A&M University and other universities in Florida. Nearly three-fourths of the College's A.A. graduates transfer into the State University System the next year, the highest percentage in the Florida Community College System.

The college ranks 1st among Florida community colleges in the enrollment of African-American students and first in the percentage who are A.A. degree completers. Nationally, TCC ranks 53rd in terms of minority graduates.

 

TCC ranks 1st among Florida community colleges in the percentage of A.A. completers with disabilities.

TCC's intercollegiate athletic program, which includes baseball, softball, and men's and women's basketball, is a member of the Florida Community College Activities Association and competes in the Panhandle Conference. The softball program has won three conference championships and, in 1994, won both state and national titles. The baseball team won its fourth conference title in 2004 while the men's (1996, 1997, 2001) and women's (1995) basketball teams have combined to win four conference crowns. The men's basketball team finished third in the 1997 NJCAA Tournament while women's team duplicated the feat in 2001.
