"This scholarship recognizes the potential of these students' and their desire to learn as well as their accomplishments," said Frances Gillmor, executive director of the RMHC of the Intermountain Area.

Most local chapters of the RMHC grant students a minimum of $1,000 scholarships, but amounts do vary in some local program areas. Funds are go towards toward fees, tuition and other appropriate educational expenses.

On World Children's Day, one dollar from every Big Mac, Egg McMuffin and Happy Meal/Mighty Kids Meal sold on Wednesday, November the twentieth will be donated to RMHC. "Funds raised at local McDonald's restaurants stay in the local communities and provide wonderful opportunities to help children," Gillmor says.
