Education For these busy students, finding financial resources to
pay for school is an additional pressure, and many are unaware of the
financial aid opportunities available to them. Chela has created Distance
Education Resource to help them make informed decisions about paying

Education Is Americas Future United States twelfth graders recently performed below the international average for twenty one countries on a test of mathematics and science general knowledge. In addition, an advanced mathematics assessment was carried out on students in fifteen other countries who were taking or had taken advanced mathematics courses, and to United states students who were taking or had taken pre-calculus, calculus, or Advanced Placement calculus. 11 countries outperformed the USA, and 4 scored similarly. None scored significantly below the United States Hispanic Students An ambitious $1 million national program initiated by the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and the Goldman Sachs Foundation aims to improve college retention rates among Hispanic Americans was launched this week in Austin Texas. Iowa State University Science Scholarships The Science Bound program at Iowa State University has awarded a record 33 Des Moines Public School students for completing the program and qualifying for a full-tuition scholarship to ISU. These students have successfully completed the 4-year program aimed at preparing them to study for a technical degree. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation awards its 500th scholarship in its first 5 years, it is changing the lives of a select group of graduate and professional students with scholarships which recognize that financial need and academic excellence often go together. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will expand its existing merit-based scholarship program next fall to help attract more top high school graduating seniors from North Carolina and beyond. |
Katrina Scholarships-Franklin Pierce The College is providing Katrina Scholarships, consisting of free tuition and room and board for the fall semester, to students who currently represent Loyola University, Dillard University and Tulane University.
Ohio State University 1 student in each of Ohio’s 88 counties could receive a full scholarship to attend Ohio State, worth up to $17,000 per year, under a new program designed to offer more high-ability, low-income students a chance to go to university.
Scholarship Housing. Bethune Cookman The houses are both 2 story dwellings that will house 17 students each. Students residing in the houses will have to maintain a 3.0 GPA with a focus on leadership and civic engagement. They will share in cleaning, cooking, and administrative responsibilities in the houses.
Trent University Entrance Scholarships Trent University's Champlain Scholarship, the Michael Treadwell Scholarship, the Board of Governors' Leadership Scholarship, and the Trent University Special Admissions Scholarship are awarded to new first year students.
University Of Utah The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of the Intermountain West has announced the establishment of an annual diversity scholarship at the University of Utah for entering freshmen who are of African American, Hispanic and Asian/Pacific descent.
